Open Question: Should I Continue To Drink Protein Shakes?

I've been taking protein shakes for two months now. Recently, i stopped weighlifting for a week or two and found that it's easier that i lost weight like i normally did. (Im dieting and working out at the same time) I notice that in the week i didnt drink the shake, i lost weight, but i started taking it again and put it back on, and its not muscle. Im pretty sure the protein shake makes me constipated hence me losing weight slower, instead gaining it. And its not muscle weight because i can see myself getting fatter. What should i do? im thinking about stopping drinking the shake, but im scared that i wont have as much progress as i will with it. Advice please?
