Open Question: How to tell my friend to stop…?
I love my friend but she always makes up excuses for herself. She hates her body and has little self confidence, yet when it comes to losing weight she says she can't because her parents aren't good cooks or that she gets really hungry after she plays hockey or she hates running. I try to help her and I know she wants to but she doesn't put in much effort.
It's the same with school work, she's terrified of failing and not getting into uni but when it comes down to it she makes up excuses like her attention span is too short, or dinner gets in the way of a work routine.
It only annoys me because she's my friend and I want her to be happy. I know that no one is perfect and we're all guilty of making excuses for ourselves but it's getting terrible! The worst is that she has no idea she does it, I want to help her and make her realize that she can only achieve what she puts effort into. The only thing is that she gets upset and angry easily. What should I do?!
