Open Question: Weight loss/biggest loser contest?

my family & i started a biggest loser contest, here’s what im doing & where im at. i was 314lbs when we started i walk on my treadmill 5-6 days a week 60-120 minutes a day incline 6.0% & speed 3.0% i eat less then 1000 cal. a day, how much weight should i lose in 60 days? thx…

During my teenage years and early twenties I had a healthy/muscular body. Not as skinny as some girls of today, but not average either. I was very toned and muscular.

After having 2 children and getting older, I put on a few pounds, but I was still very happy with myself.
When I hit 35, I began to be unhappy with myself(mostly because I no longer fir into the size 4 & 6 clothing I had).

At 37, I quit my job and with the exception of a few temporary part-time jobs, remained unemployed until now…43.

During the past 4 years, I have gained a lot of weight(50 lbs, but looks like more!) and lost most signs of muscle.

I slept VERY late into the day and ate much more and frequently right before going to bed or during the night.

That factor, in addition to getting no exercise, had a profound affect upon my weight and tone.

Last month I started working again…on my feet at least 7 1/2 hrs. a day. In addition, I have had a more regular diet (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and no longer eat after 8:00 p.m.

The problem is that there has been no change in my weight (visually).

Being that my major contributors to my weight gain has been a lack of exercise and late night eating, I expected to see some changes already. (I went on the Atkins diet for 28 days and lost 21 lbs)

What is happening and why haven’t I seen any loss?

Although I realize that I haven’t been “dieting”, I clearly have gotten more exercise and less late night eating.

It doesn’t make sense to me.

Any insight?

please don’t ramble on about how unhealthy this will be for me because trust me i know, but if you must. go for it because i probably wont listen. i need to loose ten pounds by Saturday morning because I’m dropping down to a lower weight class for weight lifting. if i don’t eat anything and only drink water all the way to then will i be able to drop ten pounds? ill also be exercising while doing this. push ups crunches and probably running about a mile and a half a day. I just want to know if ill be able to drop it by doing this. its really important because Saturday is regionals and ill be going to state after that for sure as long as i can lose the little bit of weight. is it possible?
I’m not even close to over weight i only weight 142 and i need to get to 132! just is it possible that if i don’t eat anything and only drink lots of water can i drop ten pounds by Saturday?

My father has been feeling very under the weather for the past 2 months. He was examined a few times in thought that he had the flu but it turns out he didn’t. He has also been tested with a CAT Scan and blood work but have not found anything thus far.

Any ideas what his problem may be?

His symptoms include:
-Abdominal pain & gas bubbles
-Occasional Sore mouth and teeth
-Shooting Pains up back and sides
-Weight loss (total of 20 pounds, he was near 240)
-Night sweats
-Irritable
-Chest, arms, shoulder aches

Side Note:
He has a history of heart problems, as he endured a mild heart attack from a blood clot several years ago & so he is on a number of daily medicines, but they have not had any negative affect on him before. He has also had his gull bladder removed.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated, Thank You
He has been checked for pnemonia and is clear, another symptom is feeling of nausia in the morning waking up getting ready for work- he is only 48 btw

I have been overweight my whole life. I was 200 pounds by age of 12. I have tried everything from swimming from 1st-8th grade, dancing 3yrs-16 yrs. I had a personal trainer in 5th grade and a fitness center pass to go on my own the day after 8th grade graduation. I have tried anorexia and bulimia. I have even tried weight loss pills like alli, acai berry and zantrex 3. I am now in college and I get into exercising binges and run for like 3 weeks everyday and then get so overwhelmed with homework I have to stop. I hate this is am 5′9” 190 lbs and feel uncomfortable in everything I wear. The worst is I have never had a boyfriend or even close. Any suggestions on what else I can try because I am starting to lose hope
P.S. I hate how everyone automatically goes oooh fat girl, she must eat a LOT or only shit.. I have done everything with food from completely removing ALL junk food to only evert so often. I no longer drink a lot of pop once a week if that and I drink 3-5 25oz bottles of water a day. I also don’t snack and I basically live off Special K and salad now. So all of you who have responded and automatically assumed I just eat crap I don’t
And when eating salad I go for the fat free dressings, no bacon, no crutons

I’m looking for one where i can enter in my height and weight and weight loss goal so that it will calculate my daily calorie requirements. Also, I want to be able to add specific things that I eat, such as 35 bread ect.
*The bread has 35 calories per slice
